Welcome to the home of Arlington Travel Basketball

The Arlington Travel Program is a competitive program designed for the advanced player. Arlington Travel teams participate in the Fairfax County Youth Basketball League (“FCYBL”) along with more than 20 other youth organizations from the northern Virginia area. FCBYL was created over 20 years ago to promote competition, athletics, and good sportsmanship. For more information on FCYBL.

The FCYBL league is run during the traditional winter basketball season. Practices start in October, and games are played from December through February.

Tryouts for Arlington Travel Basketball teams are open to all Arlington boys and girls and are held every year at the beginning of October.

Arlington Travel Basketball is separate from the county-run "house league," which is an inter-Arlington league that does not hold any tryouts. For more information on oArlington house league basketball.

ATB Boys 6c “The Dragons” Complete an Exciting Playoff Run

We closed the regular season with 7 wins in 9 games, and earned a 6 seed for the playoffs.  In a series of exciting games we upset the 3 seed Burke and then the 2 seed Springfield. But, in the Championship Game, top seed and undefeated Turnpike was just better than us (37-22). Congrats to them.

FCYBL ran a great Championship event at Jackson Middle School. The boys loved the pregame introduction, and the other big game moments. At halftime, two of our players were among the players honored as all-league.

So proud of this team.  Outstanding teamwork, excellent competitive attitude and incredible improvement. Great set of parents and siblings that were very supportive and positive. Jason Ballard is a fantastic coach. Terrific season. Thanks to ATB for giving us this opportunity.

ATB teams with Challenger

Running hard with team Challenger

In a continued partnership with the Challenger program, ATB and the Challengers program hosted our second practice of the 2017-18 season. Challengers team up with ATB "buddies" who will participate, side by side, in a series of drills that have the look and feel of a real practice. ATB really values teamwork.  Our Challenger events are some of the best team practices of the year.

ATB Challenger

ATB and the Challengers program had fun today. Challengers team up with ATB "buddies" who will participate, side by side, in a series of drills that have the look and feel of a real practice. About halfway through the event, the Challengers play a real game - again with their ATB buddies beside them. Coaches were impressed with all the great passing, smiles, and friendly exchanges by the parents and children at today’s event.

ATB Girls 5A wins the Wootten Fall Classic

Coach Michael Abundo and his hard working 5A team was able to win the 10/11U bracket of the Wootten Fall Classic.  Their closest game (26-20) came at an early 8 a.m. battle with Nova94.  They were also able to win their next 2 games to claim the champoinship.

In an endurance test and testiment to the love of basketball, Coach Larry Barr's Girls 7A played four Sunday games. The team came up just a few points short against the Burke Storm in the championship game.  No one gave a better effort that morning than Girls 7A.

Thanks to all the parents, players, coaches and even refs :) that helped make this happen.
